Horse care: coat, mane, skin and hooves
53 care products from Absorbine, Fiebings, Huebeli and Magic Brush – from daily coat care to getting ready for show day.
Coat shine and show preparation
Absorbine Show Sheen is the classic before a show: it coats the hair so dust and dirt cling less and mane and tail comb out easily. Sprayer 28.50 euro, 3.8 litre refill 74 euro. Fiebings Satin Sheen at 14 euro and the Magic Brush coat sprays from 11 euro are the cheaper everyday alternatives.
One point many people miss: Show Sheen and similar sprays do not belong in the saddle area. The coat turns slippery there and saddle and pad slide.
Mane and tail
Detanglers and shine sprays are worked into damp or dry hair. They release knots, add shine and prevent new matting – more important than it sounds, because every hair pulled out takes months to grow back. The Huebeli Silk spray at 16.90 euro is made without solvents or preservatives.
Hoof care
Magic Brush Premium hoof oil at 11.50 euro and Hoof Gel Pro at 9.50 euro. Fiebings hoof polish in black at 15 euro is the show product for the final touch before a class. On hoof care the rule is: do not oil daily. A healthy hoof regulates its own moisture; too much oil softens the horn.
Skin and legs
The Equifresh cooling gel at 10.50 euro goes on the legs after work. Alongside it we carry products for mud fever and disinfectants for small wounds.
Shampoo – but rarely
Magic Brush shampoos in three fragrances at 13 euro each. Frequent washing strips the skin and dulls the coat. A brush and water are enough day to day; shampoo before a show or for really stubborn dirt.
Brushes and curry combs are in grooming supplies, insect protection in insect repellent.
